4. How We Use Your Data
- Providing the Service: Your messages are sent to third-party AI providers (Groq, SambaNova) to generate responses. These providers process data per their own privacy policies.
- Memory & Personalization: We extract key facts from conversations to build a memory profile so the AI can remember your preferences, name, and context.
- Service Improvement: Aggregate, anonymized analytics help us understand usage patterns and improve the service.
- Security: We monitor for abuse, rate-limit requests, and sanitize inputs to protect the platform.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Groq — AI model inference (Privacy Policy)
- SambaNova — Fallback AI inference
- Clerk — Authentication (Privacy Policy)
- Vercel — Hosting & analytics (Privacy Policy)
- Google AdSense — Advertising (where applicable)
6. Data Storage & Security
- Your data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Server-side memory is stored on the hosting platform (Vercel). On serverless deployments, memory is stored in temporary storage and may not persist across cold starts.
- Chat history is stored locally in your browser's localStorage.
- We implement rate limiting, input sanitization, and security headers to protect against common attacks.
7. Data Retention
- Chat history: Stored in your browser until you clear it. You can delete individual conversations or all data from within the app.
- Memory profile: Retained server-side until you request deletion or clear your memory through the app.
- Analytics: Retained per Vercel's data retention policy.
- Account data: Retained by Clerk until you delete your account.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data. You can also self-serve by clearing your memory in the app.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
- Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.

9. Cookies & Local Storage
Vinyxion uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to save your preferences, theme settings, and chat history. Third-party services (Google AdSense, Vercel Analytics) may set their own cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

Vinyxion is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
